You were beautiful. I remember your face and how your eyes looked into us and the joy that was within them. How I would love to go back and tell you that you made a difference in my life. I realize the difference you made more so many years later and wish I had been able to understand your message better then. Now I know and inside me is a little part of the Brother Blue that helped to make it so.

I discovered Brother Blue not long after coming to Boston 30 years ago. I'd stay up late, late, late to hear his stories closing out the jazz programs on WBUR. And heard him in Harvard Square. Always felt uplifted, borne up on eagles' wings. . . . Thank you, Brother Blue!

I'll never forget the first time I encountered the two of you. There was a poetry reading here at Porter Square Books and Blue got up and did his thing and IMMEDIATELY I knew he was special, he had a gift. After the event, Ruth and Blue were talking to people and I loved, just LOVED watching the two of you. What a special connection the two of you share. It was always a pleasure to have you pay us a visit at the book store. You'll always be remembered fondly!

You were a father I never knew. Your voice was the voice that I imagined was my fathers, telling me tales of wonder int o dreams into my sleep. You shared so much of yourself with others. Thank you for all that you have given, taught, shared, and showed. I will miss you
